Sentinel offers Enhanced Body Temperature (EBT) Screening for COVID-19

Hand-held model infrared camera being used for temperature screening

Sentinel Infrared Imaging has begun to answer the call from businesses and Government entities to provide initial screening solutions for body temperature screening to ensure employees and visitors to a facility do not have an elevated temperature, and potentially the onset of COVID-19. The portable infrared cameras available today are effective at remotely screening personnel entering a building or other facility for an elevated body temperature that would indicate a fever and potentially early sign of COVID-19 infection. Elevated body temperature is just one symptom of a COVID-19 infection, but is a quick, easy and cost effective way to carry out screening of personnel.

Sentinel Infrared Imaging is working with a number of domestic and international vendors to offer cost effective solutions. These infrared cameras can scan both groups and individuals, and at different ranges up to twenty feet away and groups of up to thirty people. This allows for a single camera solution to screen a relatively busy entry point at a building or other venue. If a person in fact has an elevate body temperature, a light and audible alarm will go off, and the person can be secondarily checked with a medical-grade forehead thermometer. Companies and Government facilities will obviously have to determine their respective procedures to deal with an elevate body temperature, but we have the tools to make this possible.

As people begin to return to an office or factory setting, or kids to a school setting, these EBT camera solutions will provide peace-of-mind to all concerned that every effort is being made to ensure a COVID-19 free environment.
